Help my Find a horse
Originally, the USHJA classes were dominated by thoroughbred horses. However, over the last decades entering the American show ring aboard a warmblood has become the rule rather than the exception. Dutch horses are also proving well suited for the American sport, in part thanks to their rideability. KWPN horses are celebrated for their conformation and durability and have repeatedly demonstrated their aptitude in sport, as evidenced by great examples such as El Primero and Popeye.
Just over a decade ago, nearly 21,000 Dutch horses were registered as competition horses. Many Dutch show jumpers were imported and turned out to be the perfect partner in the Hunter ring. A good Dutch Equitation horse, especially in the youth divisions, has also gained popularity. This high demand for Dutch horses created a large market for the import of KWPN horse from the 70s onwards.
However, buyers face certain challenges in today’s market. Along the growth of, mainly online, sales the number of unreliable sellers has also increased. We know like no other how difficult it can be to find a place where people know the full history of the horse, let alone them being honest about it. No horse is perfect, yet through open communication and clarity, every rider can find a horse that fits their desires and needs perfectly.
Dare to be different
We believe that we can make the difference through openness, transparency and a genuine love of horses and distinguish ourselves by being a reliable party that specialises in the American sport. In practice this means that we are also honest about the horse’s imperfections or if we think the horse does not suit its future rider. Because the right match is essential to reach optimal enjoyment of the horse and achieve success in sport.
From an early age, our horses have therefore been familiarized with the American Forward Riding System, have been trained with a constant rhythm, master the simple lead change, possess ample balance as a basic quality and have gained experience in the American hunter classes. As a result, buyers no longer need to descend on Dutch soil. Competition results and quality videos make it possible to make a good assessment of the capacities of the horse. In finding the perfect match we strive to ensure you and your horse are ready to head to the American competitions right away.
